Movie Review: The Lightning Thief

I saw The Lightning Thief last weekend and was dissapointed a ton. I really liked the books and the movie is anything but similar. If you hadn’t read the book, you probably would of liked it, but it was so different from the book it was a bit hard to enjoy. They took out Kronos,the oracle, Ares, the Saint Louis Arch, and so much more. They didn’t just snip; they pasted too. The book didn’t have the whole going around the country to get the pearls thing or the hydra. And the timing of when he got Riptide(Whose name wasn’t mentioned)was all wrong and he sliced through Ms.Dodds, and Mr. Brunner didn’t have to save him in the book. And Annabeth was brunette in the movie! She was blond in the book and her eyes were grey, not blue. There were some good parts, like when Grover beat up Gabe with his crutches and when Chiron said “Yes. I have a real horse’s a**.” That was funny.
